Accurate schedules ensure that incidents reach the right engineer without delay, minimizing downtime and helping organizations meet their service level objectives.
While the concept appears simple, enterprise on-call scheduling is highly complex. Organizations must accommodate multiple teams, time zones, rotating shifts, holidays, overrides, temporary replacements, follow-the-sun coverage, and layered escalation policies—all while ensuring fairness and preventing engineer burnout.
